sibling review

Andrew is reciting his (school) poems to Peter.
After each one, Peter excitedly says, "Good Job! Good job, Andrew!"

Peter-isms

Peter informed me today that my hair smelled like 'hot dogs'...
I'd be insulted, but this is also the kid that thinks boogers are blue...

what's in a name?

Peter: "I'm Peter Werner".
Me: "Yep, that's your name".
Peter: "And you're Mom Werner".

Guess we'd better work on those 'L's!

you are what you eat?

Popular Halloween candy this year included gummy body parts. (eww!) We had an assortment of teeth and at least a couple gummy 'brains' (again, eww!).

One night, Andrew chose to eat one of the brains. The next day, I told him he was 'very smart' for something he'd done during school.

He replied, "It must be because I ate that brain last night!"

Chef Peter...

"Can I help you with the 'spicies'?"

"Can I still help cook you for dinner?"

imaginary friends

This week the boys dreamed up an imaginary friend, Bill. I'm pretty sure he was Peter's friend first as Peter was the first to mention him. He was equally amicable with Andrew though - and Peter was okay with sharing him.

Bill was a good friend, taking turns playing with the boys. He read books and played trains with Peter. Andrew read stories to him and even shared his 'buddies' with Bill. In turn, the boys saved him a seat in our car and made sure I did NOT leave without him when we went to run errands that day. (Bill did not need a car seat - good thing, as we don't have room for one). I think Bill may have even come to vote with us, although I can't totally be sure about that.

Apparently, Bill has the gift of bilocation as he took naps with both boys that day - in separate rooms. (I suppose when one is imaginary, he can be anything!) At any rate, both boys prepared a sleeping bag for their 'friend' prior to naptime.

That afternoon, Bill continued to be a very good sport. He played outside with the boys and let them have the 2 bikes. I'm pretty sure he did request a wagon ride, though.

Amazingly, Bill disappeared by Halloween - I guess the boys didn't need anyone else to share candy with (b/c we know Mom & Pop-pop are taking their share!)
